Subject to availability, two-hour free parking is available Monday – Saturday in the lot at 365 Albany Street lot behind our building. Parking is also available Monday – Saturday at $2.50 per hour in the lot at 500 Harrison Avenue lot (subject to availability) and every day at $2.50 per hour (credit card payments only) in the lot under the Southeast Expressway (Rte. 93) accessible from Albany Street, just south of its intersection with East Berkeley Street (at the Mobil gas station).
BEAD + FIBER, which has a Harrison St. address is actually physically located on Thayer Street, which runs off of Harrison Ave., in the Thayer Street Arts district, in the SoWa neighborhood of Boston, a reclaimed pocket of the South End featuring former factory and industrial buildings, now home to unique shops, residences, galleries and restaurants. One can easily spend the entire day in the Thayer Street Arts district which is a self contained promenade featuring over 35 independent businesses, galleries, shops and a cafe, as well as more than 65 artist studios.
On the first Friday of every month, the Thayer Street Arts district hosts First Fridays, from 5 – 9 pm, year round. Also located in this district every Sunday, 10 am – 4 pm is the SoWa Vintage Market, and during the winter months, the indoor Sowa Winter Market featuring local arts and foods. From the first Sunday in May through the the last Sunday in October, the SoWa Open Markets, which are outdoor arts, crafts, produce and food markets, are open every Sunday, 10 am – 4 pm.
