No previous polymer clay experience is necessary for this qu ick\, fun workshop. Techniques covered include introduction to polymer cla y\, how to condition the clay\, tools needed\, making basic canes\, discus sion on surface treatments and texturing\, using an extruder\, stamps and texturing for decoration. Projects include making up beginner canes which include: Skinner Blending\, jelly roll\, stripes\, extruded dots and an as sortment of other simple canes. Students may want to bring lunch and a b everage for a short midday break. We will make a pair of earrings to take home as time permits.
\nStudents will be asked to bring at least six blocks of Premo Polymer Clay in the colors that they like. They should in clude black and white in the color selection. The student should also plan to bring a ruler\, notebook and pencil and a plastic bin so that all unba ked clay can be carried home.
